TEARS

"Charlotte died alone."

That must be one of the saddest lines I have ever read.

VOICES

BLOG is the sound your head makes when it hits your desk during a bout of writer's block.

Yo G. My notes just hung. Wuz in the zone. On fire. Then suddenly the jizz stopped. Slammed I wuz. Def slammed.

I'm try to write something. But the idea are out of my head. Maybe I'm just relax a bit then I'll writing again my thoughts at my mind.

It's so super super really hard to come up with something, you know, brainy. It's probably because I'm really really trying too hard. Actually.

HOW OLD IS THAT DOGGY IN THE WINDOW?

It's my birthday today. I'm a year older. arf. arf.

June 27 is the feastday of Our Lady of Perpetual Help here in Baclaran. So everytime it's my birthday, the image of OLPH is paraded around the streets of Baclaran. Good thing I wasn't named Perpetuo.

NOT EXACTLY THE LOTTO BUT...

" The Golden Web Awards is a FREE service of the Association and is presented to those sites whose web design, originality and content have achieved levels of excellence deserving of recognition."

Whoa! I got an email today stating that I won an award. It's the Golden Web Awards. It looks cool and all, I'll be posting the "award" at the bottom. Now where's the freakin' prize?!!

Regardless whether this is a 'regular joe' kind of thing it's still made me feel good...

Thanks IAWMD (International Association of Web Masters and Designers) for the award.

INQ7 News Article

I THINK THEREFORE I ATE

I was absolutely broke. Went to work today with only twenty pesos in my pocket (around US$ 0.40). As I stepped out of the house, I told myself, "I can get through this. All I need is some positive thinking."

1. Around eleven a.m., my wife, who probably only has fifty pesos (less than a dollar), calls me up and says she'll pass by with some officemates who want to be read and they will treat the both of us to lunch. Chinese. I meant the lunch.

2. Around three p.m., Oliver reminds me that he owes me P100. And pays me at the end of the day. Must be this San Juan Festival thing.

3. One of my consultancies called me up to inform me that they will be depositing some cash during the day. I didn't hold my breath.

4. Around seven pm, I checked my ATM for the deposit (wasn't there) only to find out that I still had 300 in my checking account (my savings account is as dry as Gwyneth Paltrow in a date with a sixty year old, three foot, midget mime at the Oscars).

Whoa! The power of the mind. Next step: the lottery.

THINK OF ALL THOSE ASHTRAYS

This is a heads up. No more smoking in all public places, including schools, recreational facilities and areas frequented by children as well as in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and restaurants. It also includes public utility vehicles such as jeepneys and busses. *sniff* Bummer. But then *sniff* again it's for the common *sniff* good. Riiight... Ack! Ack! Ack! Monday News! Ack!

*UHURM*... One thing though, the article linked from INQ7 was sourced from an Agence France-Presse report. Only in the Philippines where LOCAL news are sourced from FOREIGN correspondents/agencies. Isn't that just sad, or is it just only Monday? Ack! Ack! Ack! Monday! Ack!

PORN IN THE PHILIPPINES

Reposted to: Sexy in the Philippines

Just read Ramon de Veyra's article Short Takes This Time Out, Because I Am Tired.. He touched upon making porn legal here. That was done before though... remember the likes of Lala Montelibano, Joy Sumilang, the Softdrink Beauties (Pepsi, Sarsi...), the Edsa Babies (Elsa Enrile...) and other "artists" who rode that baby in the late 80's? Who can forget George Estregan? Even Paquito Diaz and Maribel Lopez figured in one...

SO THIS IS WHAT I FORGOT ALL THESE MONTHS

I dusted off my spanking banner and posted it at the bottom. I remembered I had it only after adding Indiefilipino.com's banner. If you'd care, it's this one:

visit World Famous in the Philippines

The HTML tag is:

<a href="http://jobert.blogspot.com" target=blank><img src="http://www.info.com.ph/~jobertv/wfpbanner.gif" width="120" height="60" border=0 alt="World Famous in the Philippines" title="World Famous in the Philippines"></a>

Just copy the tag above and paste it on your site, voila! If you have banners, tell me and I'll post it here.

INDY!!! WAIT... IT COULD BE INDAY?

I added another link (and their ice cold banner) to my ever growing link of Philippine thingys. It's Indiefilipino.com,. It's funny how I ever missed that site. Cool things going on over there...

1:35:20 "My name is Larry Henderson, I am a father of three and uh... they have a gun to my head"

1:46:36 "Glass or Plastic? Glass or Plastic?"

1:53:21 "Great! We're not gutless, we're incompetent. That right?"

2:05:38 "Jesus Christ! I already dropped them!"

Oh yeah, I was talking about Lulu and Gabbi. Yup they have a blog. I have a link on it too on the left, it's above's Budjette's Babbling Point. Sorry Budj, the girls go first. They told me what to put, except for the current blogs, their first two about Puppy were original. Hope you like the design...

WHY HARRY, WHY?

My wife really flips out whenever I watch Armageddon. I always get teary eyed watching that movie. Noticed that chic...I mean, women I know find it an amusing one. Is it just me or is it a guy thing. Watchatink?

JOSE RIZAL'S BIRTHDAY

To those who care, today is Jose Rizal's birthday. He was born on 19 June 1861 in Calamba Laguna. CLick on the link to read an article on why he is special. Also check out the link on the left for more info.

LOOKING OUT A DIRTY OLD WINDOW

Woke up this morning with a killer headache and my feet were as hot as freshly made pizza from Yellow Cab. Tried to shake it off but the feeling prevailed. In short, I didn't get to go to work. Spent the whole day just bumming around. Couldn't surf or read because of the headache.

HP called asking about my printer and if it's doing ok. Brand new (well actually 4 months old) and it conked. Told them I haven't picked it up because THEY DIDN'T CALL TO TELL ME IT WAS OK FOR PICKUP ALREADY! I think the call was from Singapore cause the minute I told them, she immediately said goodbye. Didn't want to entail those extra second charges...

Tried reading HBHG but couldn't get pass the page since I couldn't think straight. Killer headache... you know what that means....

Beckham is moving to Real! If I was a ManU fan that would put me straight into a tizzy but since I'm not... GO ARSENAL!!! Then again, think about it... Zedane, Figo, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo, and Beckham? I wouldn't miss them go against Barcelona this time...

Too bad the Philippines isn't as hot into football as other countries. We're engineered for it. There must be a conspiracy why Basketball is THE sport here. Must check this site for that.

HELLLLOOOO STUDENTS!

To those looking for Famous Philippine Scientists and stuff, look at the links on the right, i mean left, left! and check out Philippine Government. From there just jump to Science and Technology and you'll have a cornnu... cornucc... cornucop.. ummm... smegload of links to other science stuff pertaining to the Philippines.

STOP THE PRESS! STOP THE PRESS!

Ooops! Seems that Lulu and Gabbi already have a blog! I do have to teach them to cite their sources lest they be accused of plagiarism. Give them a break, they're just 8 and 5! After reading it though, it does make me think twice about puppy....

BRIDGED

Whoa! Just saw Bridge at Libis. Man! Johnoy is one cool dude! Sings like Dave Matthews, Sting, and Eddie Vedder too. Now all we need is a tambourine to complete the sound...

GLIBBERISH

My mind is a blank. It's probably this three-day weekend that just passed. MONDAY!!! Ack! Ack! Ack!

FLUSTRATING

I planned a lot of things but none of it has come to pass, specially the ones I blogged before. Except returning the VHS tape I haven't done anything. This weekends are turning up to be useless periods where all one can do is sleep, bum around, do nothing and... ummmm.... I get it now...

FLATHERHOOD

Father's Day. Whoa. Had fun with the kids. Can't believe they're growing up. One day, I have to explain to Lulu what the fuss Lord of the Rings is about and next thing I know, she has a hidden crush on Elijah Wood. Was introducin Gabbi' to Aerosmith, Hootie, and U2 now she's composing songs such as Bite My World, We're Divided and I'm A Rock Star. They're only eight and five! They can surf the web, change my passwords (believe me, it's a hair pulling situation, found out some of my passwords were buttercup, puppy and gasp chiffon!), fill up my second harddrive with over 10gigs of captured images from DVD, etc., etc. They're like growing up right before my eyes. They even email me at work when their fighting. Can't wait for them to go to school and wonder why people there are using Internet Explorer and not Mozilla or Opera, Outlook Express instead of Mozilla Mail, and use Media Player instead of Musicmatch!

In two months, they'll be starting their own blog. Scary.

THREE EYES

Okay, so Gabbi and Lulu also has the gift. I'm kind of happy. Their not aware that not everyone has it. I make sure that they treat it as a normal ability. It's just that it's amusing to watch other people's reaction when they start telling them things they 'see' and 'know'. For awhile it subsided but now, they're acting up again. Told them not to talk about it and by the looks of it, they don't say much about it anymore. Except for Tess. Whenever I'm out late, all she does is ask the two and voila! She knows where I am, who I'm with, what I'm doing...

DON'T BLINK, YOU MIGHT MISS IT

Last Thursday was Independence Day for the Philippines. I'm pretty much sure no one noticed it. Why? Because it was not declared a non-working holiday and that "holiday" was moved Friday. Can anyone imagine the US celebrating the 4th of July on the 5th?

My belated advice? Next time why not just cancel Independence Day here since even Government doesn't deem it important enough to celebrate on that day. Nationalism indeed.

I hear Christmas would be moved to January 1 for practicality's sake.

AND NOW, FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT...

he...he...he...

REMOVE LEFT FOOT INSERT RIGHT FOOT IN MOUTH

Seems I was wrong when I blogged VENTING. Won't take it back though. That's what I really feel about people like that. I probably just vented it to the wrong person.

CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS

Decepticons! Transform!

ANOTHER WARNING

Either Saturday or Sunday seems to be a "rocking" event. This time though, I could be wrong, it could be something else.

VENTING

Don't you just hate people with a superiority complex? Just because one is well read and well versed doesn't mean one is well educated. Color me stupid but at least I don't go picking on someone because I don't agree with his or her opinion. Or even think that I am better than anybody else.

UPDATE

Whoah! I'm fast approaching 1000 hits! In less than three months! Noticed that a lot of visitors come to my site to check out Famous Philippine people, places, and things. Well, as a service, I placed a list of sites to visit for such information. Hope this helps.

NO ESCAPE

My wife found out that my daughters can "track" me wherever I am and what I am doing. Seem's they're stronger than me and are strongly linked to each other. It's not a one way street anymore. Too bad Tess (my wife) can't ride to the circus with us on this.

MILD ALERT

Another earthquake in two days? Possibly Tuesday.

TEASER

Years ago (around 1999) Anna, my officemate, found out about her cousin before anyone on her side of the family did.

Our bed is against the wall. Before, I always want to sleep by the edge opposite the wall. It's easier to get out of bed that way. One night around three am, I woke u... no, I suddenly just opened my eyes. Pulled out of a forgetfull dream. My wife was sleeping soundly but I had this feeling that someone was staring at me. As I turned my head, standing next to the bed looking at me was a woman. I barely could make her out. She was like a shadow, except "whole". Like being between a dream and reality, I could "see" her in a pink colored blouse running in a garden and laughing. At the same time, I could see her in my bedroom standing beside me. She leaned forward and whispered to me..."Tell Anna her cousin just died". She turned and walked towards the door. Can't remember if she just faded or went through the door. Afterwards, I just closed my eyes and went back to sleep.

Her name was Rose.
