I think I should change the title to Wide Awake in the Philippines! I already cut down on my coffee and everything but... Wonder if I can get a part time job to cover these early morning waking hours...
This confirms it. My earthquake radar has been replaced with the Terror radar. Shonayu mentioned that my headache last week pointed to the airport blast in Jakarta (is it?). Well, she was present when my 9-11 vibe went off. And that was a real wild one! Problem with this thing I have is that I'll get the feeling before it happens but I don't know where!. Pretty useless really unless I do RV but it is a loooong session...
So as Ercs has mentioned in her blog, our supplier from HK is here for a visit. Ummm.... better make sure to wear gloves and a mask. That's the least we could do... Actually, the person is NOT my supplier so Ercs, baby, ya on yo own! Do visit her site. It's kinda cool, in a cool kind of way...
TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY TWO! TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY TWO! TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY TWO! 222! 222!
That's the number of site visits this blog has had in three (or is it four?) weeks. I already slashed it back to 27 before when it registered 84. I blocked my whole IP address as well as the office so my visits or my officemates won't register but I still got 222 as of today! Wow! A lot of people I owe money from must be really looking for me!
I changed the comment thing to Tags just like Gem advised. Thanks. Hope it's ok now. I also added a comment bar at the end of each log if anyone cares to put in their 56 centavos worth...
Disturbing scene at the resto this evening. Shonayu, Gomer Pyle, and I were there talking when this big burly guy started manhandling the girl he was with. And I mean choking her and stuff. It really got to all of us. I was like two steps away from standing up and stopping it. But man! That guy was HUGE! Shonayu kept telling me not to stare but it really got to me. It took management like ten minutes before they reacted but all they did was tell them to leave TOGETHER!. Great. That would really help...
Still we were catatonic for like fifteen more minutes.
I felt guilty that I did not do anything to stop it. I admit it, it was fear. I'm kinda average built. I can take on people. In fact, have been in a few fights myself. Been on the losing end more often and I knew that guy clean the floor with my face without breaking a sweat. It's different if the odds are even steven or slightly in your favor.
I asked Gomer if I could have stopped him, he said no. And it was a guaranteed ticket to the hospital for me. Let alone if he wasn't "connected" or anything then this blog would just stop with Barbie staring blankly back at you...
Then, Gomer said, together we could have brought him down. Guilt enters stage left....
On our way home from the resto, we saw the couple calmly walking in the street hailing a taxi. The girl was acting as if she didn't get her earrings slapped off her face (which did happen!). *Sigh* Made a promise to Shonayu to slap her silly if she acted that way too...

NO TITLE TUESDAY
Today was a nailbiter. Since Meralco's cutoff for the electric bill is before payday, it's really hard to pay on time. I'm what you call the last minute kid...I pay on the second notice. The last one. And it's always on the 27th. I know... I know... Why not just put away on the 15th for the bill. Well, I got other bills to pay let alone groceries, allowance... etc. It's my fault really. But what can I do?
Why don't they have white trash Barbie (tm)?
Well, as for the project, it is on the brink of cancellation! The Other Side seems to want it to fail, why go through it? Working in the Philppines really a bummer. Trust me. Your contract is only as good as your contact...
I'm in a gung ho mood...Heard Mars is in Aries ergo my mood. And also Mercury is retrograde ergo my blog screwing up... Ah the joys of astrology! Where eveything you do is in the stars... If that's the case, how else do we have free will?

Oh by the way, Gny Sgt Hartman is the ultimate Sith trainer. Watching that movie reminds me of Darth Maul's training days. Wonder if he was like Gomer Pyle

FLAWLESS GRUMP
Now, this is what I think is missing! Color! Let me correct that VIBRANT color! Thanks to Lara for the image! I'll be sprinkling those oh so cool images once in awhile on my blog.
So, I've been down the past week with Sarsus Pretendus Fluus. I'm all well now and am back at the cudgels of work. It's all cool now. I mean, the project is still teetering between pass and fail but overall the satisfaction level is still uhhh... level. Everything on our end is hunky dory, it's the other side who needs a swift ki...uhurm.. they might be reading this, you know...
Oh, talking about art, go check out this page. Just remember, There are no pants. (Wouldn't that line that qualify as poetry now, hmmm.. gotta ask Lara...)
I gave Erica a surprise by fixing up her blog. Still have to talk to her and see what she likes and don't like.
Yesterday was my dad's birthday. My tito's and tita's arrived to greet him. It was really fun. Gerald came by with Ninang (I call her that cause she's my ninang sa baptism, kumpil, wedding, and even sa Boy Scouts!). What made things better was that we got the medical results of my dad. He avoided the big c! It's his kidney that's a problem and is curable. Talk about a birthday gift! We were eating the whole day! That White Salad was a real killer. Ninang's famous Potato Salad. And did I mention my mom's bottomless camaron rebosado? Dang...I'm getting hungry. Hmmm...food
Had a dream that the Points Of View team had a reunion. We were all there and were talking about a reunion show. Then suddenly, we were picked up by GMA 7! Forgot the rest but I had a brief fleeting memory of being naked and running with chickens... Really miss writing for TV...
Gotta fire up Final Draft and continue with my script... must send it to Aye to see it's viablility... Reminder to self: Call Chris V! Call Chris V! Don't know what to call him but gotta call Chris V!

Budjette texted me about Remote Sensing at the UP. If it's the same as Remote Viewing that would be wild. I know of one group that does that but not in the true RV sense. I do RV once in awhile but I really need a good monitor. Without that monitor, despite what others say, it doesn't really work as good. Believe me... Although, I get to light up that target really well!... Another way are Cold Readings. That one is ok even alone. Although, the target would be "live", and would feed a general direction... Am I boring anyone with this?

What has next week to bring? Suddenly I'm getting really loud vibes about next week? Could be really... something bad? Hope not... Could be nothing... It's the same thing I got week before 911...

They are not really known here, country music is not really Philippine fodder but The DCs are (in my opinion) trying to regain lost ground by posing nude for Entertainment Weekly. Would it help them? I don't know. Just wrote this up to have an excuse of showing that cover... Wonder if they'll be on this flight?

I've been sick for the past two days. I was (and still am) in that grumpy mood. Kinda worried it was SARS and I thought I was really going to be famous here in the Philippines!
That Tuesday heat was the real killer! Had two meetings then but shuttling between airconditioned rooms and walking under that sun dud me in! I don't have SARS, I don't have cars. I don't even think I'll even get to mars...

Just checking my news on the feeder (I use Newsdesk, and it sure beats reading the paper, i tell you!) This has something to do with SARS and INDIA...
I was just wondering why just like the Philippines, India also has no reported cases of SARS (Inq7 has reported one case of SARS here again) Checked around and found a news site from India stating that SARS is curable (?). Another website states how SARS is boosting the drug industry of India as well as it's trade industry... hmmm....

REMEMBERING MEMENTO
How do these five day weekends work? It's as if they never happened? I don't even remember what I did? Actually, this thought (and yes, I am able to think, ...at times) inspired me to take out that old dusty DVD of MEMENTO out the closet. Actually, I saw it before but never got to use (is that the word?) the disc. One thing about that movie...Memory IS treachery. That movie just grabs you from the first part (which is disorienting...) then wallops you a hard one at the end!!!! Which is even MORE disorienting. Too bad, Christopher Nolan (he's directing Batman: The Frightening!) took down the Official MEMENTO site. As far as I remember, the movie is not complete without a visit to that site. A LOT OF REVELATIONS THERE. Anyway, for more insights just follow this link to never never land!
So tomorrow is MONDAY! ( why is that a link to IBM?...hmmm Conspiracy here!) I didn't do squat the whole holiday, not even post. Borrowed the whole Band of Brothers DVD (no, not the Henry V thing, the Spielberg/Hanks thing) but didn't even get to pop it in, let alone take it out of the bag. I get too hyped up preparing for the holiday that when I am truly psyched up for it, it's gone... c'est la vie
Better make sure everyone meets up tomorrow and if people beg off, gotta find replacements. That Chemical thing really has to be up and running by the end of the week....
Okay, now for the other project, have to set up a lot of meetings for TS. That better jump start too. Don't tell me, don't tell me... I know Mercury Retrograde! Ain't that a female dog! (Can't link that, tis a pooorn site!)

REPORTING FOR DUTY
Hookay! Woke up early this morning planning to go to work and just kick back and who calls me? My boss! Asks me if I'm going to work* and my retort was, "I'm going, if you're going". Forgot the actual words but basically he tells me to just stay at home and just fix up some details Crank up the rig, It's Championship Manager time and Arsenal is going to kick major butt!
ACK!!! Championship Manager 4 is out! And I'm in the middle of the season in my game. Do I finish the season or do I seek the 4th? Hmmm....
Checked my email and got one a message on the zobel group. My batchmate, Lara, has a website (actually two) she wants us to check out. One is her homesite and the other is her artsite. Before you click and port out of my blog, do check the artsite first. So cool... And don't forget to sign in on the guestbook! Tell her I sent you. And I do mean the BOTH of you!
One thing missing on ATM's here in the Philippines is a coffee bar. And I mean part of the ATM itself. Does it really take that long to take out cash? Also avoid visiting one between 5:30pm and 8:pm on any salary day (10th, 15th, 25th, 30th). Unless of course your into tantric withdrawals (he..he..he..) I'm serious, the wait is so long that you might think Bill Gates is there really giving out money to those who forwarded his email. Or was it Disney?
* Here in the Philippines, the Holy Week from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday is a holiday. Our rule (actually, my rule) here is that the day before and the day after Holy Week is also considered one. Hence, Holy Wednesday, is technically a holiday. The Monday after Easter is also one. Productivity for these two days is basically the same as that of a five year old taking notes in a seminar on Thermonuclear Physics and it's effect on ants...

Well, this confirms it! I am Obsessive Compulsive.
I haven't been posting anything substantial lately because I am so obsessed with the look of the BLOG! Is it me or do I have a feeling that only Centrino visits my blog? Well, does it matter?
Once, I am content with the look, I definitely assure you that I am going to go postal!
Anyway, just borrowed a webcam from the office and in awhile, I'll include the cast of characters.
The meeting last night didn't push through. How was I to remember that Ercs has a wedding to attend. GMA the principal sponsor? Whoah! I guess she's still partying till the wee hours...Ercs, I mean....

Okay, so I got a kickass rig with a Gforce TI4200 and a Creative Soundblaster 5.1 Card. Quick story, this weekend, I wanted to watch Matrix surround sound. Since I blew all my cash on the tuition of the two kids, I couldn't get to buy 5.1 speakers. Borrowed my cousins speakers, plugged it in the rear line out (I know, sounds kinky...). Hoookay....No speaker stands, not even a table or bookshelf behind me. Just to satisfy my curiousity and to show Tess that surround sound rocks! I ended up straddling two speakers on my shoulder! After thirty minutes, I ended up watching the rest of the movie on my 2.1s.
Moral of the story? Try to abolish education and Gotta get those 5.1s!

Since I blew all my cash on the tuition of the two kids, I couldn't get to buy 5.1 speakers. Borrowed my cousins speakers, plugged it in the rear line out (I know, sounds kinky...). Hoookay....No speaker stands, not even a table or bookshelf behind me. Just to satisfy my curiousity and to show Tess that surround sound rocks! I ended up straddling two speakers on my shoulder! After thirty minutes, I ended up watching the rest of the movie on my 2.1s.
Moral of the story? Try to abolish education and Gotta get those 5.1s!

IT"S A MONET NOT A MANET...
Yup. The eggs, I mean the pebbles (Thanks, Centrino) are gone. Crushed. No more. Nada.
Anyway, the graphic on top is Monet. One of my fave painters. Usually, he's confused with Manet. Here's the thing: Monet left his wife and went with his mistress who MANET had an affair with. They're both painters and painted together occasionally. Or something like that, watch Ocean's 11.
Also, I just spent the whole night changing the look of this blog. Hope you all like it. HEY! I'm talking to the two of you!
Oh... The project changed again. Seem's I'm back on top. Let's see what next week brings.

DUCK SEASON...RABBIT SEASON...DUCK SEASON
In the never ending seesaw of my project, I find myself in the bottom again. One swift kick would probably bring me back on top.
Changed the look of the theme again. Changed the title of the blog, again. And changed the description of the Blog again. Funny how blogging reflects life. No matter how you change, no one will notice unless you tell them. Except probably for my 8 year old daughter, Lulu.
"Papa, what's inner peace?" The joys of childhood...
Trying to find a site to host my images. Next project is to change the graphics on top. What are those anyway? Eggs?

DINNER AND A BLOG
Just had a dinner meeting with a supplier friend, his boss, and my officemate. Funny those awkward moments when you're not sure who's going to pay. Specially when:
1. You're not sure you got enough moolah to cover the bill
2. It wasn't supposed to be dinner but just a meeting (hey, **it happens!)
3. You just had a P700 steak (why/ It's steak al forno on red wine sauce! What would you get?)
One more thing: A pox on that waiter for placing the bill in front of me!!!
Afterwards, we had red wine in one of the "clean" bars in Makati Ave. Well, the bar was rated PG but the wine was extremely awful! It wasn't wine, it's like a cross between Red Cool Aid without the sugar and watered down clinical alcohol. And to think I got a nine am meeting tomorro... I mean later... Sorry but I am digressing
Now I added a comment bar and anyone who feels free to add in some comments go ahead! Man! I feel like a restaurant that just opened and no customers are coming in! So go! Comment! Email! Anything to let me know that someone is there! I am quite sure, I will get a comment from someone...he..he..he...
